Dear Friend,

You want to do the right thing. So do we.

Together we can play a life-saving role for horses which would have had dim prospects for a productive (if any) future. The future for at-risk horses rests squarely in the hands of those of us who are willing to create a responsible alternative. Whether we are owners, breeders, trainers, riders, or simply folks who have a soft spot for horses, we have the option of doing the right thing and the right thing just got easier!

The Kentucky Equine Humane Center (KyEHC) is a first-of-its-kind facility, established with the specific goal of providing owners with a humane option when they need to give up their horses. KyEHC is a tranquil 72-acre horse farm centrally located in the horse capital of the world which will give horses of any breed a safe refuge. No horse in a precarious situation will ever be turned away. Those who can be adopted will go to loving homes, and, like our dogs and cats, those with chronic pain, hopeless injuries or illness, will be compassionately euthanized.

A quick look at our list of directors and advisors will confirm that, while we are a newer organization, KyEHC is governed by committed men and women who have a track record of longevity and great professional success within the equine industry. Under their expert and practical guidance, KyEHC is embarking upon a daunting, yet doable task.

The vision for KyEHC is to become a model for horse shelters in all 50 states. This is just the beginning, and we invite you to join us in making this vision a reality! In order to succeed we need your support. Please join in our annual gift campaign with your tax deductible gift.
